Age of Revolution Zone

Age of Revolution Zone

The world is changing in the turbulent times of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. From the Industrial Revolution to the American Revolution, find out how the foundations of our modern lives were built.

Between 1700 and 1900 CE, societies around the world underwent massive changes. The British Empire was growing, the first European settlers had put down roots in America and would eventually form the United States, and technology was advancing at breakneck speed. In 1700, the only way to send a message over a long distance was by letter, and this could take weeks to arrive. By the end of the 19th century, it was possible to pick up the telephone and speak to someone on the other side of the world in just a few moments.

From the Industrial Revolution to the American Revolution, explore how these developments made our modern lives possible.
