Visit ‘Once upon a time’ whenever you like in the Early Years Zone.

Traditional tales have been told from generation to generation, becoming part of a community’s shared story. Learning about these tales is helpful in allowing younger learners to become familiar with story structure, and to develop an excitement for reading and a love of story time.

In this Zone you can explore the settings to many traditional tales, from climbing Jack’s beanstalk to joining Goldilocks in visiting the house of the Three Bears.

Jack and the Beanstalk

Follow Jack's unique journey from his home, to the market where he sells Daisy the cow, and up the Beanstalk where he discover a Giant and a hen that lays golden eggs!

The Gingerbread Man

Run, run as fast as you can as you follow the journey of the Gingerbread Man from the kitchen where he was baked, over the fields and finally reaching a river that he cannot cross. It looks like a fox is waiting to offer help to get across the river... what will happen next?
